Pictured above are Sean Sedwards' two emboss plug-in filters, both can be applied to 24-bit RGB images from inside Xara via the Plug-ins menu. The first filter creates a grayscale emboss (Figure b.) which can be applied over an image or pattern (C.). The second filter creates a Highlight image (d) and a Shadow image (e.). The two filters become invisible when Xara’s Bleach transparency is applied to d. and Xara’s Stained Glass is applied to e. The results (shown in Figure f.) maintain the image’s colors and produce a more saturated result.
Sean’s Emboss Filters are available as freeware and shareware. The freeware filter contain no controls whereas the shareware filters have controls for emboss direction and contrast. I strongly recommend the shareware version because of the added controls.
You can download one or both filters on a trial basis. If you like the filters and plan to use them, the price for the filters is contained in the documentation file.
