Use Combine Shapes > Subtract Shapes (Arrange menu) to trim out a small crescent shape. (The red dotted line represents the top shape used for the trimming. Did I already say that?)

Flop a duplicate and position both crescent shapes as shown.

You already know this, but just in case you don't, the quickest way to flop and drop a duplicate is to select the shape (in this case the left crescent shape), drag the left center control handle to the right and across the end of the first shape. Hold down the Ctrl key and the shape will flop over to the right. Before you release the left mouse button, click the right mouse button to drop the duplicate.

Add a Linear, Mix transparency to each dark crescent shape, but change the starting transparency value to 20% and the ending value to 80%.

In the same manner that we created the thin crescent shapes, create two thin shapes using the rectangular reflection shapes and using the fill color shown. Flop a duplicate and place both shapes to the outer edge of the base of the bulb.

Group all the bulb shapes (Ctrl G).

Using the Pen Tool, draw a horizontal line that crosses the lower portion of the bulb.

TIP: To draw a horizontal or vertical line in Xara, click the first and second anchor points, then hold down the Shift and Ctrl keys and drag the second control point in the direction you wish the line to go. The line will constrain in that direction. This also works with the Angle Constraint percentage specified in the Page Options > General tabbed section.
