Convert the rectangle to Editable Shapes(Arrange menu). Using the Shape Tool, shape the rectangle as shown.
Conform the bottom of the
rectangle to the top of the ellipse. To do this, drag the center upwards, then individually click on the lower left and right nodes and use the Bezier handles to fine tune the curve. Drag the handles to the
positions shown here.
Using the Shape Tool, click along
the hat shape to add additional nodes. Don't add nodes to the bottom curve.
Marquee select all the nodes (drag a rectangle around them with the ShapeTool) and change the node status to Cusp by pressing the
Cusp Join icon on the Infobar.
Drag the line segments outward as shown.
Using the Fill Tool, apply an
Elliptical Fill using 50% black and white. Position the center of the fill higher as shown.
