Select the enveloped shape and from the Arrange menu, select Convert to Editable Shapes.

Select the Mould Tool and apply another Circular Envelope.

NOTE: You have to convert to editable shapes before you apply the second envelope. Otherwise the second envelope will not have the desired effect.

The purpose of the circular envelope is to make our colored elements and colored square look spherical, like a Christmas ornament. The Circular Envelope does not create enough spherical distortion, which is why we have applied it twice. However, the second envelope took away the circular quality.

No problem. Select the shape with the Mould Tool then click on the upper right control point. This makes the Bezier control handles appear. Drag the end points to the intersection of the guidelines as shown. (Trust me, this will work!)

Drag the other three sets of Bezier control handles to the other guidelines as shown.

See how the outside shape is round once again?

The distortion is better, but not quite there yet.

To make the distortion even more spherical, we will repeat the last step.

Convert the Mould to Editable Shapes (Arrange > Convert to Editable Shapes).

Apply a new Circular Envelope.
