Draw two parallel lines that are the same height as the square.

TIP: Click the red magnet icon on the Infobar to enable Snap To Objects. This makes it easier to snap the lines into place.

TIP 2: Draw the first line segment. Press the Esc key to deselect the Shape Editor Tool , press the Space Bar to select the last used tool, (the Shape Editor Tool) and draw the second line segment.

Select the Blend Tool.

Click on the first line and drag to the second line (before you release the left mouse button) to create a blend of the two lines.

Change the number of Steps on the Infobar to 4 and press Enter on your keyboard to apply the changes and to change the default 5 steps to 4.

Select the Mould Tool then click on the blend to select it. Press the circle icon on the Infobar to apply a Circular Envelope.

From the Arrange menu, select Convert Line to Shape and then without deselecting the rounded shape, select from the Arrange menu, Combine Shapes > Add Shapes.

By converting the lines to shapes and by adding the shapes together, we have a large circle with five shapes within.

Select the circular shape and reduce the size to 155 pixels.

From the Arrange menu, select Break Shapes. You will now see what appears to be a black circle. Delete it and underneath you will find the five shapes shown in this illustration.
