Duplicate the white eyeballs (Ctrl K ). Reduce the width to 15 pixels. Center them and change the fill to the RGB color shown on the left.

NOTE: Ctrl K (Edit > Clone) makes a duplicate in the same place. Ctrl D (Edit > Duplicate) makes a duplicate and offsets it the amount specified in the Page Options > General tabbed section.

No, we are not going to give our character a black eye. We are going to create eyebrows.

Draw a circle 58 pixels in diameter. Change the line width to 8 points (select 8pt from the Line Width drop down list). Set the fill to none. Center the circle over the left eye and Convert to Editable Shapes (Arrange menu).

Converting the circle to Editable Shapes allows us to edit it.

Select the circle with the Selector Tool, then select the Shape Editor Tool. Select two adjacent points by dragging a rectangle around them with the Shape Editor Tool and then click the Break At Points icon on the Infobar (shown to the right of the Shape Editor Tool icon).

Rotate the circle until the shortest arc is centered over the eye. Delete the bottom portion (shown in blue for clarity).

HOW TO: To free rotate a selection in Xara click twice. The first click puts you in Resize and Skew mode, the second click puts you in Rotate / Skew mode. Drag any of the four corner arrows to rotate the object. Hold down the Ctrl key to rotate in constrained degrees.

Raise the eyebrows a little by selecting them then pressing the up arrow key on your keyboard once or twice.

Convert the eyebrows to shapes (Arrange > Convert Line to Shape).

Change the fill color to the RGB orange color shown on the left.
