The R was similar to the diamond plate-filled A. I used a duplicate 3D R to Combine Shapes > Add Shapes creating a solid shape to which I applied a Granite fill, another Fill from the CD, called Granite 4  (Click Here to download the fill). I converted the fill to bitmap (Arrange > Create Bitmap Copy). I selected the bitmap copy and changed the fill color and outline color to those shown above, changing the granite image to a blue green texture.

I changed the colors from the 3D R to grayscale values. The flat, blue green textured shape was placed over the grayscale 3D shape, the Transparency Tool selected, and a Flat, Stained Glass Transparency, amount 20% was applied.

The final A was a piece of work I can tell you!

Using the grid, and a very close zoom, I created  checkerboard patterns on the front and top sides of the cube. The values varied depending upon the side on which the checks were. The top, for example is black and 10% gray. The left side is 20% gray and 60% black.

The top and front of the A were straightforward Combine Shapes > Intersect Shapes operations. The sides were a bit trickier. I made a checkerboard pattern of two rows of checks to the width of the side of the A (on the grid) and to the height of the A (on the grid). The I used the Mould Tool and the Default Perspective Envelope (with Snap To Objects enabled) to snap the side checks onto the side of the A. I used a duplicate panel to create the two pieces on the inside of the A shown in yellow. It seems easy now, but it took me a while to get it right.

And so when we put the letters together this time, what do they spell?
