Make a duplicate of the shape (Ctrl D) and set it to one side for a moment.

With the shape still selected, select Break Shapes from the Arrange menu. This creates a large oval and all the inside pieces. You cannot see the smaller pieces because they are hidden by the large oval. Select the large oval and delete it. (The Delete key on your keyboard).

You should be left with the pieces shown in gray. Select all and set the outlines to none.

Apply warm fill colors (reds and oranges) to the non-letter pieces and cooler colors (blues and greens and purples) for the letter parts.
