Select all the pieces and group them (Ctrl G or Arrange > Group).

With the group selected, select the Fill Tool and chose Four Color Fill from the drop down list of fill types on the Infobar at the top of the screen.

Change the colors to magenta, cyan, yellow, and purple. Select Repeating from the Fill Tiling drop down list on the Infobar.

Reduce the size of the fill so that the fill path rectangle is one half the size of the rectangular area of the puzzle piece. This should create a yellow sunburst in the corner of each puzzle piece.

NOTE: To change the fill colors, click the corner square on the fill path you wish to modify, then click the appropriate color on the screen palette.

NOTE: To resize the fill path rectangle, drag the square at the end of either arrow. To reposition the fill, drag the square where the two arrows come together.

Ungroup the puzzle pieces (Ctrl  U). (The fill that you applied to the group will not be altered).

Select all the pieces, then select the Bevel Tool. Select Flat from the drop down list of Bevel Types on the Infobar. From the drop down list of Slider Types, select Contrast and change the amount to 70%. This increases the contrast (light and dark) for the beveled edge. Now select Size from the Slider Types drop down list and change the size of the bevel to 2 pix.
