Select the circle with the Selector Tool
(the arrow) and from the Arrange menu, select Convert to Editable Shapes.
Using the Shape Editor Tool (the icon is shown top left) select the center bottom and the center
right control points. Press the Break at Points icon on the Infobar. Using the Selector Tool, select the arc in the lower right corner (shown as a blue dotted line) and delete it using the Delete
key on your keyboard, or by right clicking on the arc and selecting Delete from the pop up menu.
Select the circle and the
vertical line (hold down the Shift key to multiple select). From the Arrange pull down menu, select Join.
Select just the vertical line. Using the Shape Editor Tool, drag the top
point upwards to the arc. When the top of the vertical line overlaps the arc, the icon to the right of the cursor changes to a + indicating the two points will be joined into one continuous path.
Duplicate the joined lines (Ctrl D). We'll need them on the next page.
Select one of the diagonal lines that we created on
the last page, and press Ctrl C (or Edit > Copy). This copies not only the diagonal line, it copies the line color, width, and any other attributes.
Select the joined line and arc, and press Shift Ctrl A
(or Edit > Paste Attributes). This applies all the attributes from the diagonal line to the selected shape transferring the line weight, color, and end joins and caps.
