Add 10 pixels of feathering to soften the edges of the blend.

Right click on the blend and select Create Bitmap Copy from the pop up menu (this is the other way to select this function). Press Create in the Create Bitmap Copy dialog.

Send the bitmap to the back (Ctrl B ) and center the bitmap under the neon.

Apply a Flat, Mix transparency, amount 70% to add a soft glow behind the glass tubing.

Select the Contrast transparency bitmap. (Click in the center of the neon a and check the Status Bar to make sure it says 1 Bitmap on Layer 1:.

Select the Shadow Tool and select the Wall Shadow option (second from the left). Drag the shadow down and to the right a little as shown above. Note that the shadow reflects the light and dark of the Contrast transparency.
