Happy New Year 2007

New year! New look! New tutorial! This month we have a short tutorial, only 24 steps, but with a pretty cool result. It is festive, falling metallic confetti in clear liquid in glass tubes. Some knowledge of Xara is helpful, but I am confident that even you new users who found a copy of Xara Xtreme Pro under your Christmas tree will be able to complete the tutorial without too much heavy breathing.

As I prepare this tutorial I am looking at real winter snow falling outside the window (18" so far and it is not expected to let up until tomorrow morning—New Year's Eve!. (While you do this tutorial, I will be shoveling the driveway).

The Flash animated new Xara Xone logo was created in new Xara Xtreme Pro as was the larger animated logo on the Xara Xone home page. The animation above was created with Xara Modules Snow Effect, which is almost as real as what is falling outside and in this case looks a lot like festive New Year's confetti. It's one of the many prefabricated effects you can add to your Website that you can find at Xara Online.
