Enable Snap To Grid and draw a 2.25 inch square. Inside the square, construct a checkerboard as shown. Each check is .125 inches (1/8th inch) square. Select all the black checks, and from the Arrange Menu, select Join. Repeat this process with all the yellow checks. We'll change the yellow checks to white in the next step.
