Change the line Width to 14 pixels. Key in 14pix in the Width text entry box on the Infobar and press Enter. From the Select an Existing Stroke Shapes drop down list on the Freehand and Brush Tool Infobar, select Convex stroke shape. Press Edit Brush. In the Scaling tabbed section, set the Pressure slider setting to 20-100%. This makes the leaf shape taper towards the end. Copy the brush stroked line to the clipboard (Ctrl c).
From the Select an Existing Brush drop down list on the Freehand and Brush Tool Infobar, select the default setting Normal Line (if any line can be normal) and change the line Width back to the default 0.67pix. Draw a series of wavy lines coming out of the stem as shown above
Select these new lines (hold down the Shift key and click on each line to select multiple objects) and Edit > Paste Attributes. Send some of the leaves to the back (Ctrl b). We're just about done!
