A Southwestern Wildflower In the American Southwest, where I live, we have a weed called the Western Salsify. It has a flower head like a dandelion but the similarity ends there. Unlike the dandelion, the Western Salsify has long gracefully pointed leaves, a host of very exotic minaret like buds, and in the early stages of summer when it first appears, yellow flowers as well as the fuzzy seed head. Oh, and unlike the dandelion which reach a height of well under one foot, the Western Salsify achieves a height of about 3 feet. The fuzzy seed heads are about the size of a tennis ball. This tutorial is probably better for users with some experience, although if you are patient, and read all the instruction, maybe you new users will be able to get through it as well. There are 30 steps. I used Xara Xtreme Pro 3.2 but I think you can create this tutorial in most recent versions of Xara.
The simple Flash animation above was created in Xtreme Pro. The only objects used were a bitmap image, and a white rectangle with a Circular transparency. A Word from Our Sponsor:Xara makes several graphics products and all of them are fun and easy to use. And Xara makes this site possible so it would be nice if you just went to these pages and had a look see. Thanks. You are probably aware of Xara Xtreme but have you downloaded Xara Xtreme Pro? All the tutorials in this Workbook are done in Xtreme Pro, so if you don't have it, get it now.
Here are some other products made by Xara and links to the Xara.com Website.
