Select the duplicate shape and using the Transparency Tool, select Linear Transparency from the drop down list on the Infobar. Drag the fill path arrow towards the bottom of the picture to soften the spilled light.

Our little church now looks very warm and welcoming.

Select the taller mountain shape and apply a 2-color Circular Fill using the colors shown. Center the fill over the moon. Expand the diameter as shown. This extends the diffused moonlight effect to the mountain.

Did you know Circular fills can have more than 2-colors? Well they can. Select the smaller hill shape and apply a 2-color fill with pale yellow in the center and dark purple on the outside. Find a pale gray purple on the screen palette and drag the color from the screen palette and drop it onto the fill path arrow somewhere between the small window and the door of the church. Position the center and end of the fill as shown. If you need to, you can change the color of the fills in the Color Editor.

Using the Pen Tool create a shadow shape as shown. Click each corner to place an anchor point finally clicking on the first anchor point to close the shape.
