So, what's new with Xara 2? The animation should give you two big clues. The big news is Photoshop (and Photoshop compatible) Plug-in filter support! You can use virtually any Photoshop compatible 32-bit filter in Xara 2. I created the animation (entirely in Xara 2) using one of the new Plug-in filters from The Filter Factory CD (check the end of the tutorial for more samples of these totally cool filters and a HTML link to get more info.)
The other big news is animation support. You can now create wizzy animations, like the one on this page, and edit the animation frame by frame. This is hot! Xara 2 has all the features of Webster 2 built in. There are many improvements and refinements including more control over exported Gif and JPEG files with real-time previews before you export your file.
But enough of this hype, let's get on with the tutorial, an Easter egg.
