Step-By-Step
You should now have two separate Blends. We now want to create a top and a bottom section using the areas inside the red outlines. Drag a rectangle over the first Blend so the bottom of the rectangle falls as shown. Draw a rectangle over the second Blend as shown. Note the bottom of the top rectangle and the top of the bottom rectangle should both be in the same exact place. (The gray square in the first example is for clarity only.) Select the first Blend and rectangle and from the Arrange menu select Combine shapes, Intersect shapes. This will leave just the top portion of the heart. Repeat the process with the second Blend. This should leave just the bottom portion. If so, you may proceed.
