Here's the finished animation. The animation's file size is rather large but who is counting? The technique is what is important here. Xara 3D 3's WMF file import gives users the ability to import and animate logos and symbols. And the ability to apply a decal is frosting on the cake as they say. The decal can even be a photo!

If you have access to an application that can produce an EMF (Extended Metafile ) you'll be happier still. WMF file format uses thousands of tiny straight lines to create a curve whereas the EMF format supports Bezier curves and is more efficient.

Using this technique, you could take the February tutorial with the cubes and create a spinning cube with changing images.

Next month's tutorial will be found in the new and improved XaraXone , along with a whole bunch of other stuff including a new area for Xara Shareware and Freeware, a Featured Artist of the Month, and a bunch more. Launch date is May 1, if all goes well!

Comments are always welcome. Click Here to send me e-mail.

Until next month, then.
