Step 13 To add some texture to the shapes, Clone (Edit menu or Ctrl + K) one of the land shapes and move it to the gray work space.

Create a new star with the QuickShape Tool and Copy (Ctrl + C) the fill from the land shape. Paste (Ctrl + Shift + A) it to the star.

Cover the land shape with copies of the star, see step 10.

Hold down the Alt key and click the stars until the land shape is selected and Bring to Front (Ctrl + F). Marquee select around all the objects and shift-click the land-shape to de-select it; Group (Ctrl + G) all the stars.

Again, Marquee-select all the objects and perform Combine Shapes - Intersect Shapes (Arrange menu or Ctrl + 3). Give the texture shape a Linear, Mix transparency from the bottom to the top, running from 100% to 40%.

Place the texture shape back on top of the original land shape with the help of Snap to Grid (Numpad .).

Add similar textures to the remaining shapes in the image, always re-using the existing fill.

Step 14 Draw a rectangle as wide as the paper and as high as one snap on the grid at the waterline, and another at the bottom of the paper. Copy the fill from the water to each of the rectangles and use the Blend Tool with a  10 steps between them.
