Step 1 First draw the land (the blue, red and green shapes).

Set the Shape Editor to Cusp Join Z and Make Curve C.

Draw the blue shape with the Shape Editor by adding the start and end-points of the curve and then switching over to the Pen Tool, to finish it off.

Use the Shape Editor to adjust the nodes so you get a pretty arch. The bottom part of the blue shape should be below the bottom guideline.

Step 2 Next, Clone (Ctrl + K) the blue shape and Flip Horizontally to create the red shape.  Adjust the nodes of the new shape to make it slightly bigger and place it on the bottom guideline.

Create the green shape in the same way.

Step 3 Use the Rectangle Tool to create the orange shape (water) so that it covers the bottom one-third of the paper. Create the purple shape (sky) in the same way as the water and make it cover the top two-thirds of the paper.

Use Move Forwards (Ctrl + Shift + F ) and Move Backwards (Ctrl + Shift + B) to adjust how the shapes overlap. The blue shape should be in the front.
