Using the Rectangle Tool, hold down the Ctrl key and construct two squares, 300 pixels and 160 pixels.

TIP: Draw the 300 pixel square first. Select the square, hold down the Shift key and drag one of the corner handles towards the center until the size on the Infobar shows 160 pixels. Before releasing the left mouse button, click the right mouse button to drop the smaller square. The Shift key forces the resize to happen from the center and thus both squares are centered.

Press the red magnet icon on the Inforbar to enable Snap To Objects.

Select the checkerboard (either one—your choice), then select the Mould Tool. With the checkerboard and the Mould Tool selected, drag and snap the corners of the checkerboard as shown here.

NOTE: When dragging the corner of the checkerboard, the cursor will have a four-way arrow. As you approach a snap-to point, the four way arrow changes to a magnate.
