This is the interface for Sean's Shareware Emboss filter, which can do grayscale emboss, (shown here)  highlight, and shadow emboss.

The top slider determines how hard or how soft the emboss edges are.

The bottom slider determines the light source. In the setting shown here, the text should appear recessed or debossed. The freeware filters only produce the raised emboss effect and have no controls.

The great thing about the Shadow and Highlight filters, as we shall see in a moment, is that when we apply transparency, only the highlights and shadows are effected. The rest of the image color to which the filters are being used remains unchanged.
