Once you have the 10 x 10 square checkerboard pattern, drag and drop five more duplicates to make a long checkered panel. Group the checkers and apply a golden yellow fill using the RGB values shown to the left. Create a rectangle the same height and width of the checkered panel and apply a pale green fill. Send the green rectangle to the back ( Ctrl-B).

Key in The Gopher Broke Company in 20 point Trebuchet MS Bold, and with 40 ems of tracking (shown in the inset in red). If you don't have Treubuchet MS (it's free from the Microsoft site), use a similar font.

NOTE: Tracking affects the uniform space between characters and words. Increasing the tracing puts more space between letters and words. To apply tracking, highlight the text with the Text Tool and press the arrow key (shown in red) to increase the space.

Kerning affects the space between two characters. To adjust the kerning, place the text cursor between the two characters and use the forward or back arrow keys in the window to the right of the tracking window to increase or decrease the space.
