This tutorial was prepared using Xara 1.5. You can recreate these examples in CorelDRAW 7 as well.Create two long ellipses (yellow and gold) , an ellipse for the top of the glass (green) and two ellipses (blue) for the top of the champagne. Group the yellow and gold ellipses. Select the group and the green ellipse and from the Arrange menu select Combine Shapes-Slice Shapes. Ungroup the yellow ellipses, one by one, select each, and Break Shapes (Arrange-Break Shapes). Delete the top portions.
Draw a rectangle. Convert To Editable Shapes, (Arrange menu) and use the Shape Editor Tool to shape the stem of the glass. Create another ellipse for the base. It should be more circular as it is farther below our eye level. Make a duplicate, send it to back (Ctrl B) and move it down a bit.
