This custom transparency can be given a profile just like any other transparency.

And that’s it. With further experimenting, you could create some quite novel effects. Part of the fun of using Xara is experimenting with the fundamental-like tools available, rather than having to memorise a lot of pre-packed, readymade, limited effects libraries. Virtually any effect can be created in Xara X1 with enough imagination and know-how.
