It is a really good idea to make lots of layers as you go. This simplifies editing, allows you to "lock" a layer so it doesn't get accidentally dragged around and it allows you to look at your drawing with and without the various sections you have created. Sometimes you may want to take them out!

Now create a sky. Make a layer called 'sky' and then in it, draw a block of blue (you choose which blue!) and make it occupy about the upper two-thirds to three-quarters of the format. Make sure you remove the outer line of the box. Do this by right-clicking in the 'no-fill' box, at bottom left of your screen. Do this for all the objects you create from now on.
