Bitmap textures may be applied to both text and the background. The Texture Options sliders work with the text to scale the texture, move it up, down, side to side, as well as rotate it as shown above in the preview window.

You can apply any of the dozens of textures that come with Xara 3D 4 or create your own as I have done with the example shown here.
