Three Color Fills fill in a triangular direction. The colors blend three ways creating rich colors in between. The center of the fill can be repositioned by dragging the center node. Each fill path arrow operates independently and the fill path arrows can be skewed.

Four Color Fills fill in a rectangular direction. The colors blend four ways creating subtle transitions as shown here with two yellows and two oranges. The center of the fill can be repositioned by dragging the center node. Each fill path arrow operates independently and the fill path arrows can be skewed.

Bitmap Fills When an object has a bitmap fill, the fill can be repositioned and/or resized and/or rotated.

TIP: If you import a bitmap image into Xara, a copy is placed in the Bitmap Gallery on the Infobar. You can apply the bitmap image as a fill by selecting an object, then the bitmap in the Bitmap Gallery and pressing the Fill button. The fill can then be resized by selecting the object then the Fill Tool.

Fractal Clouds Fills simulate the look of clouds. They are two-color fills to which Rainbow and Alt Rainbow Fill Effects can also be applied. The fills can be resized horizontally and/or vertically, skewed and rotated.

Clicking on the fill with the right mouse button, with the Fill Tool selected, produces two additional settings on the Infobar, Fractal Resolution and Fractal Graininess. Resolution determines the printing resolution of the fill while Graininess determines the softness of the fill. A setting of 1-3 produces a softer fill.

TIP: Both Fractal Fills tend to have very distinct patterns. Resizing and skewing the fills minimizes this.

Fractal Plasma Fills are more defined in shape and can be use to simulate water.

A setting of 9 produces more fill objects.
