But where there’s a will there’s a way. In this tutorial, Ms. Guest will show you how to recreate an existing web page, in this case the first page of the Special Edition Workbook First Look at Xara Web Designer 6. You can do this in Web Designer 5 or Xara Xtreme as well. But if you have not tried the new and improved Web Designer 6, why not download the free, fully functinal trial version and work through this tutorial? We’ll begin by downloading all the graphics from the home page. This is easy to do. From the File menu, select Import Graphics from Web...  Copy and paste this URL into the Import dialog www.xaraxone.com/webxealot/workbook81/ and press Import. All images from the web page are imported including the bitmap fill applied to the home page, and mouse off and mouse over buttons. Now all we have to do is to get the graphics resized where necessary and in the right places. Open the Page and Layer Gallery (F10). Select the MouseOff layer then press New. Name the new layer Template. Drag the title bar for the Template layer to the bottom of the list. If you receive the above error message, just click OK. The images will download anyway (don’t ask!)
