Once I get to this stage I make a bitmap copy then I start to change the colors. This is where Xara
could improve its bitmap capabilities like color enhancing or replacing colors. I sometimes throw my bitmap into a freeware program called Irfanview that offers better color enhancing. I stuck with Xara on
this one and I changed my colors to this....
Utilities > Bitmap Effects > Brightness and Contrast. I played around with the very little color and
brightness slides until I got what I wanted. Then I blurred it and gave it a Linear, Stained Glass transparency Repeating.
It looks even colder now. I put two bitmap transparencies of this over the original vector image. One
with a Mix transparency and the other with a Stained Glass transparency. I also added a rectangle filled with a red and cream elliptical repeating fill and with a Flat, Stained Glass transparency. Repeating fills
are good for creating light effects.
