Digital Watercolour The scene is a 3d SketchUp model. Not having any watercolour-effect plug-ins available to me, I decided for fun to take on the challenge of trying to create a watercolour look in Xara Xtreme. The image uses jpg exports from SketchUp that were manipulated with filter effects and overlaid with various transparencies. There was so much trial & error and such a subtle building up of effects in this that (unfortunately) it wouldn't be easy for me to reproduce. I'm quite happy with the result so I probably will try it again. When I do I'll make notes on the steps involved so I can more straightforwardly reproduce the effect. Look at the zoomed-in detail — realistic watercolour effect eh?
