Step-By-Step

Group the pattern and paper. Draw four small circles (red) and center one on each corner. Group the circles. Select the circle and the kite paper/pattern group and Combine Shapes, Subtract Shapes to knock out all four corner notches like the one on the right.

Let’s do Mom! Draw two concentric circles. Apply a Linear Fill to the top circle and a Conical Fill to the bottom using bright yellow and darker yellow. Drag the directional fill arrow on the Conical Fill so the lighter portion is on top.
