Step-By-Step

Fire needs something to consume so we’ll create a log to burn. Draw a rectangle. Use the Shape Tool to round the corners by dragging one of the corner nodes. Give the log a fountain fill, like the one shown here, using oranges and orange-browns to reflect the warm glow of the fire. Draw a few irregular shapes, fill them with dark brown, no line, and duplicate them and spread them around the log to create the look of bark.
