©Derek Cooper Flowers in a vase Again drawn from life, it started out as the usual hard edged drawing but gradually became softer and more watercolour like. I'd like to say I meant to do it like that but the truth is as I was working on filling the original outlines with colour I just became a little slapdash in applying layers of fill to the drawing which made it softer and less well defined.
