I really like simple logo designs best, although I have been getting away from this basic design principal lately.

I am always happy if the logo design can visually communicate the nature of the product, service or business.

The Airia logo was designed for a manufacturer of air filtration products (AIRIA is air spelled forwards and backwards). This logo was a combination of two designs, one was the A and the other was the type. This is what I call the Chinese Menu approach, one from column A and one from Column B.

This design was done for a logo makeover article in the now defunct Corel Magazine USA. Laney College is a trade and technical college located in Oakland, California.

I liked the simplicity as well as the technical feel. The logo was offered to the college pro bono. They graciously refused.

EZ - Metrics is a software script written for CorelDRAW by Foster Coburn that converts two dimensional drawings into a variety of planographic projections including Isometric.

I designed the final version of the logo using the software which I felt was a pretty terrific testimonial for the product.

The Kelleher Company is located in Northern California and mills decorative wooden molding. They had requested a logo makeover via my former Makeover Maven column in Corel Magazine (may it rest, but not in peace!).

My first designs that I was happy with used three side views of the moldings to form a flat 2D "K". Then I got the idea to do it in 3D. In fact, the logo was done in an early version of Xara 3D. Even though Kelleher decided not to replace the logo that they had been using for 20 years (and a good logo at that).
