Treasure Island was for an annual event at a local university. I started it off by taking snapshots of some of the buildings on campus with my digital camera.  I put them on the back layer and made them un-editable. I overlaid on each photo corresponding shapes to match the building's design, then added brick fills and laid a semi-transparent colored fill on top of that. Again, much of the detail is lost but it adds to the overall illustration. I then added each character and the map components. The fractal plasma fill was used for the parchment paper with several transparent layers laid on top.
