Step-By-Step

I brought my original line drawing into Xara, made a new log shape which I filled with a bark Texture Fill, created a black and white shading overlay which I made semi-transparent to give the log shape. I used Xara’s Mould Tool (similar to Corel’s Envelopes) to add an undulating quality to the flames. Xara’s transparency options make it easy to fade the flames in and out creating a really believable flame.

You can almost see the flames move, huh? Here comes the big finale!
