The Road to the Church. When I looked for a title for this picture I asked my friend how can I say in English when somebody goes to God's place. I mean not only go to any building, but also to a place of faith where a man's soul can turn to God. In Russia churches were built on high places so they can be visible from long distances. In the evening time, it looks like a big candlestick with burning candles. To be buried close to a church is very honorable. Evening is for me a symbol of the end of life. Everything is quiet and it comes time for estimating what was accomplished during the light (life) time, and what will be in the future.
