I began this piece with the song lyric and a Xara trace of a photo of my husband. After deleting a good portion of the trace, and adding a few elements here and there and several different transparencies, I began thinking about a background. Another aphorism - The Sands of Time - seemed to fit the mood and I drew the background as a beach scene that would show through his face.
