Step-By-Step
What’s a golden pot of green jellybeans without a rainbow, n’est ce pas? This rainbow begins with two gracefully arced lines. (a.) Make a duplicate of the beginning and ending arc. Select both duplicate arcs and from Arrange chose Join. With the Pen Tool click on the left node of the top arc, and click before you come to the bottom line. Still using the Pen Tool, drag this new endpoint over the left end node of the bottom arc. Repeat this process for the right side. (b.) This is a little unusual, but it's the way Xara creates a closed shape. If you’re successful, the shape will fill with your default fill color. (c.)
Select the original two arcs and apply a 50-Step Blend, with the Reverse Rainbow option selected. (d.) Draw a white rectangle slightly larger than the rainbow, send it to the back (Ctrl B) select both and from Arrange, click on Create Bitmap Copy. Click on 24-bit and set the resolution to 96 dpi and click Create. Position the solid shape (c.) directly over the bitmap rainbow, select both, and Arrange-Combine Shapes, Intersect Shapes. This will trim away everything but the bitmap rainbow. Set the line width to 0.
