For the final touch we’ll add solder to the joints. In reality the lead channels that hold the glass in place are cut with a sharp knife. Corners are mitered. The joints are painted with a flux solution and lead solder is applied with a soldering iron. The solder is initially brighter and shinier, but in time it attains a darker patina. I’ve given my solder (mostly a rectangle with rounded corners) a Radial Fountain with the center of the fill offset up and left as shown in the magnified circle.
