Apply a Gaussian (pronounced gow-sian) Blur, 5%, (in Photoshop set the value to .3%). Paste a Copy on top of the blurred version, selecting the Paste As New Object option, and from the Merge Mode drop-down menu on the Property Bar select Multiply 50%. This softens the image and adds depth to the veins. Experiment with other Merge Mode settings while you’re there and see if you can discover other interesting marble effects.
Your combined image should more or less resemble this one.
