Follow those steps again but, this time, rotate it 45 degrees.

    a) Ctrl-k to clone it and put the cloned shape exactly on top of the existing shape.

    b) Rotate it 45 degrees. Figure_09A

    c) Ctrl-a to select them both.

    d) Ctrl-j to join them and create the new shape.

Here it is after the 45 degree rotation and joining.

 

Do it again (steps a through d) but rotate 22.5 degrees.

Finally, do it all one more time but rotate it only 11.25 degrees.

When you're done, you end up with a very intricate "snowflake" like this.

Okay, so maybe it's a doily, or a mandala. But whatever you call it, it's way cool!
