Now we're going to create a symmetrical shape out of this. Symmetrical, in this case, means that it's mirror image on the left and right and on the top and bottom.

    a) Make sure your group object is selected (check the status box at the bottom of the screen).

    b) Hit Ctrl-k (menu Edit > Clone group).

    c) Hit the flip horizontal button. Figure_04

What just happened? Well, the clone function made a duplicate of the shape and placed it EXACTLY on top of the original shape.

Then we told Xara to flip that shape (the clone) left to right.

Now you have two shapes, one right on top of the other.

 

Select both those shapes (again Ctrl-a for select all).

Then left-click on the flip vertical button. Figure_05A
