The Xara Kaleidoscope


Greetings everyone. Here's a bit of fun that you can have with Xara. It has no practical value (as far as I know) but you can use this to make some pretty patterns and, since the holiday season is fast approaching, you can use this to make decorations.

Like snowflakes, no two will be exactly alike ...

Here's how it works.

1) Create a couple of simple objects. For the example, I've chosen an ellipse and a rectangle and grouped them together and set the outlines to none.

Kaleidoscope tutorial ©2007 Stephen Robinsond) Then select both of the objects by left-clicking on one then holding the "Shift" key down and left-clicking on the other.

The status bar should tell you that you have two objects selected.

Then use the "Arrange > Group" menu

item to group the objects together.
