Now both eyes are done. I will now put them on a single layer and turn that layer off while I work on other sections. The eyes are not necessarily done, as I'm not completely happy with these shadow shapes, but in a pinch, I could crank out the rest of the face if I had to and the eyes are at a level of finish that is acceptable. I intend to add a lot of detail to the face overall , but I really want to work from large shapes to smaller shapes. Most people tell you to work from large to small, from dark to light, and from general to the specific. The truth is is that you need to find a method for yourself and from time to time, switch it up to keep yourself from getting bored. There are no process 'rules' that need to be obeyed other than making sure your work looks good when you're done and that you've satisfied your own standards. If I'm working on a piece where the subjects eyes are going to be seen, I like to work on them fairly early on, but that's just how I am. Proceed however you see fit. Thanks for tuning in.
