Now set little different colors for leaves.
Bring leafs2 to front (Ctrl+F) and set shadow for whole tree.

With this approach you can create more complex objects using different brushes, pressure profiles, fills, etc. as well as more complex fractals.
The veins in a leaf are a fractal shape as well.
