Adding a Perspective Shadow One of the last steps is to add a perspective shadow to the type.

Select the blended type object with the Shadow Tool and apply a perspective Shadow (a Floor Shadow). Drag the shadow with the Shadow Tool until it resembles mine in this example image. And set the Opacity at around 60%.

NOTE: Whatever you do, make sure that the shadow does not appear detached from the type. This is not a drop shadow, it's a perspective shadow. So it must remain 'attached' to the type as it's cast upon the surface that the type sits on.

The Final Results And the final step for the type is to add some colour. This is optional of course. But if you do want to add colour, it's simple. Ctrl-Click on the upper face of the type. Then press Ctrl+C & Ctrl+Shift+V. This equates to COPY & PASTE in position. Select any single or multiple colour you want to use, and set the transparency mode to "Stained Glass". Then lower the Opacity to around 55%. The shade of colour you use will generally dictate the level of opacity.

And that's it in a nutshell. If you have any comments or questions, please use the feedback form on the next page to send me your comments.
